Dear Member and Friends of Kansas Baptist Church ,

This Newsletter will be reporting the activities of the Church for May and June. May was a month of Decoration and remembrance of our loved ones and friends. I wish to thank all those who were involved with our hospitality tent at Kansas Day. We had a little rain but the day cleared up and the temperature was comfortable. We had the opportunity to meet many of the residents of Kansas and visitors from the surrounding area. These are times we want to take advantage of on behalf of our Lord and His Church.

As many of you already know, the church's air conditioner to the Sunday School department was stolen. We ask that you pray for the ones who took it. These people are not saved. They need the Lord. Saved people want to help churches instead of stealing from them. There have been many churches, businesses, and homes hit in our area by copper thieves. Thankfully, our insurance covered the greater cost of replacing the unit.

UPWARD MINISTRY

UPWARD BASKETBALL CAMP
This month we are preparing to have an Upward Basketball Camp. The Camp will be July 9-15 for K-2nd grade boys and Girls. The children will attend two hours each evening and will be practicing to improve their skills. They will have devotions at each session. It will provide the church the opportunity to meet people and develop friendships that lead to witnessing of Jesus. Please pray for this ministry, our league director, Mike Garner and all the volunteers who will be involved.

SPECIAL EVENT On Saturday, July 21st, at 6 PM, we will have Upward Basketball Camp Awards Celebration. At this time the campers will receive their special awards. Also the praise and worship band, "Keregma" will be presenting a concert. This is open to all and we encourage you to come. You will be blessed. This is a church wide event and we would like to see the Church in attendance.

Vacation Bible School

May was spent in preparation for Vacation Bible School. June 3-8, VBS was held in the Family Life Center. It is such a blessing to have the facilities with plenty of room. Thanks to all who helped make VBS a great week. We appreciate the teachers and others responsible for making the week a success. We had a total enrollment of sixty. There were twenty five workers and thirty-five children with an average attendance of forty-seven. We feel that the seed of the gospel was sown in hearts that in the future will respond positively to Jesus. The mission offering was $84.00. It was decided to give the offering to a mission effort our International Missions Organization sponsors in underdeveloped countries. Water filters are provided in areas where there is no source of clean water. "Pure Water, Pure Love", is another way we help spread the gospel "to the ends of the earth."

Thanks to all those who have given to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. The total received to this year was $1,413.00. Although we were a little short of our goal of $1,500.00, I feel that it is remarkable for a Church of our size to be so involved in missions around the world through our mission giving. May God bless each of you. Marie

FINANCIAL REPORT

Donations for May were $1,851.64. Donations for June were $276.69. To date we have raised $257,452.28. We have $5,662.93 in the Building Fund. We owe First National Bank $92,213.06. I want to encourage you to consider making a pledge to the building fund. My goal is to have the present debt paid off in two years. If we all make a commitment to donate each month, we could reach our goal by 2009. Also remember you can make a donation in honor or memory of a loved one and their name will be added to the plaque in the Family Life Center.
The building is being used to minister and is providing a means to spread the gospel. Thanks to all of you who have been and are being a part of God's work here at Kansas.

Does Jesus have a slot in your schedule? Do you plan your day around your time with Him, or does He get whatever time is left? Give Jesus priority by praying often and by making decisions you believe He would make. (Max Lucado)
