Dear Member and Friends of Kansas Baptist Church ,
Spring is arriving. With it comes the beauty of God's handiwork. For some it brings yard work and other projects to give attention. We would like to encourage each of you to say a prayer of thanksgiving for the Church. The Kansas Baptist Church has had the privilege to minister to a large number of people. We have just finished eight weeks of Upward Basketball.

This would not have been possible without the Family Life Center. The Family Life Center would not have been possible without the faith, work, and giving of many people whose heart was touched by God. Kansas Baptist Church has the facilities now to reach out to the community and surrounding area with the ministry of the Gospel.

God has shown us what He can do when His children simply believe Him and step out on faith to follow His leadership. The past eight weeks have been busy. Many of our members gave of their time, energy, and skills for a successful first Upward Basketball season. We had a total of seventy eight children involved in playing basketball and cheerleading. This resulted in their parents and grandparents being involved. We do not have the exact figures on the cost of the season. The fees and concessions paid for the entire Upward program. This includes Awards Night Celebration. The children each received a trophy with the church's name and their name on it. They also received from the church a full length DVD and a New Testament. From Upward they received a nice large sports duffel bag.

UPWARD MINISTRY

The motto for Upward is, "Every Child is a Winner." This is a very positive Christian ministry program. The Church received many positive feedback messages in the follow up survey. The people were very encouraging with their words and participation. We are having several visitors each Sunday and it is our hope and prayer that these people find a place in Kansas Baptist Church to serve Jesus.

The choir presented the Easter Musical, "No More Night" on Easter Sunday. This was a blessing. Thanks to all who worshipped with us.

Vacation Bible School

We are planning our Vacation Bible School for June 4-8. We will need volunteers to help. Will you be a willing worker for the Lord?

MISSIONS REPORT

An update on our Lottie Moon Christmas offering for mission. A late donation came in raising our total to $2,047.00. Thanks to all of you for believing in carrying the Gospel into other lands.

FINANCIAL REPORT

In the Newsletter this month, we will give the Building Fund report for February and March.
The Church is now paying $1,000 each month plus the interest on our debt with First National Bank. We feel this will ensure our debt is reduced quicker. Donations for February were $252.35 and for March were $1,152.05. To date we have raised $254.447.17. We have $7,618.82 in the Building Fund. We owe First National Bank $95,215.01.

We encourage our regular givers to continue their faithfulness. We encourage those who would like to make a donation in honor or memory of someone. We have started a second plaque. The plaques are hanging in the entrance of the Family Life Center for all who enter to see and read the names.
