Dear Member and Friends of Kansas Baptist Church ,

The summer months are upon us with its heat. However, we must remember that God has promised that, "While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." (Gen. 8:22) We all can remember hot summers so there is no need to complain. We do thank God for the showers that we occasionally receive.

July the 6th, our puppet ministry had the privilege of going to the Dotson Camp to present a program for the First Baptist Church Garden City. We all had a great time of fellowship and the puppeteers did a wonderful program presenting the Gospel to this youth group.
WELCOME NEW MEMBER
The Kansas Baptist Church welcomes into our fellowship, Mr. Patrick Miller. Patrick was baptized into Church membership on Sunday Morning, July 29th. We thank the Lord for Patrick and his commitment to Jesus Christ and His Church.
OFFICERS AND TEACHERS
The nominating committee presented their recommendations to the church for the coming year during Wednesday evening business meeting. I want to thank all those who filled out the survey, checking the areas in which you are willing to serve. Many of you responded and we were able to fill most of the positions. There will be a report on the positions. Please pick up one if you were not present at the business meeting. Let us all be much in prayer that this year we will see great things happen here at Kansas Baptist Church. Let us give of our time, talents, and money to the service of our Savior. If there are any questions please call me I will be happy to talk with you.
UPWARD MINISTRY
We are in the planning stages for our second Upward Basketball season. Many things were learned in our first season which we view as a great success. We look forward with great anticipation that the work of Christ may go forward and that many lives will be touched and changed because of our willingness to serve Jesus in presenting the Gospel to the children and their parents. We will be calling on many of our members to commit and set aside their time to be involved in the ministry. We will need volunteers to coach, bring devotions, maintenance people, kitchen workers, greeters, prayer warriors, etc. I hope that you will be a willing worker and help make a difference for our community and surrounding area. We will need people to help advertise this event. There is something for each and everyone to do. We will soon be meeting to prepare our brochure containing registration information.

UPWARD BASKETBALL CAMP REPORT
We had a wonderful first Upward Basketball Camp although we were expecting more children to be involved. The camp lasted five days with twenty children participating. We met parents and were able to make friends with them. I wish to thank those who were volunteers and worked hard to make our first season a success. The coaches led their group in devotions and a special speaker spoke at the camp devotion time. Our celebration was great. The children were presented with a certificate and a DVD.

Also the praise and worship band, "Keregma" presented a concert after the awards. Everyone enjoyed this group. Afterwards, we had a time of fellowship with popcorn and drinks.

MISSION OPPORTUNITY
It is not to early to begin planning for a mission effort that helps many children in foreign countries. Operation Christmas Child is a special blessing to children in third world countries. We are asking you to begin now buying small items to put in a shoe box. More information later.
