Dear Member and Friends of Kansas Baptist Church ,
School will soon be out and the children will be enjoying a vacation from classes. Many activities will be happening and families will be busy. We encourage families not to be caught up in these activities to the point that church is neglected. We all must realize that spiritual training of our children and ourselves is the most important thing because it has eternal value.
The church celebrated the 90th birthday of Brother Cecil Dodd on Sunday, the twenty-second of April. There was a good number in attendance and many of his relatives were able to come to this celebration. Happy Birthday from Kansas Baptist Church, Brother Dodd.
Our Spring Festival was great! There was plenty of food and fun for all who came. There were various games for the kids. Each child received prizes at each game. We had a giant 40 foot slide which was a great hit with the children and adults.
We welcome into the Kansas Baptist Church Family, Kaylee Wright, Kaylee was baptized Sunday morning April 29th. We thank the Lord for Kaylee's profession of faith.
Today our nation stands in need of prayer. We need direction for the future. There is a great need for unity in our government. We are a divided nation and only God can bring us together. We must be willing to let God have His way. Paul gave Timothy the pattern for his praying. I feel that this pattern needs to be followed by Christians in their praying. "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour. (I Timothy 2:1-3)
Vacation Bible School
George Barna, a Christian researcher, states that by age 9 a person's moral foundations are in place. After age 9, most people simply refine their views. VBS is an opportunity to help children to form their moral and spiritual foundation. The theme for this year is "Game Day Central." In sports athletes learn to be heroes. This year, the kids will learn what it means to be a true hero that follows God's truths. The Bible lessons are about ordinary people in Bible times that were willing to follow God to accomplish His purposes. Our teachers need assistants to help in their classes. With the youngest classes, extra adults are needed to help the children. Please volunteer to be a helper. We are planning our Vacation Bible School for June 3-8. We decided to begin on Sunday Evening in order to get all the lessons in and have Family Night on Friday the eighth. We are hoping and working toward a larger number of children this year and we will need volunteers to help. Will you be a willing worker for the Lord?
