Dear Member and Friends of Kansas Baptist Church ,

It is hard to believe that 2006 is about gone. This has been a busy year for Kansas Baptist Church. We have two very important projects going. Our work on the Family Life Center continues to go forward. Our building committee is working out the details for heating and air conditioning in the gym. We have a beautiful floor and first class goals.

We believe this is God's vision for Kansas Baptist Church. To have come this far was only a dream three short years ago. Now, we are in the facility having special events and people are being blessed. Parents are registering their children for the Upward ministry. We must stay the course as God leads. Wonderful things are being said about Kansas Baptist Church and this brings glory to God because of your faith in God and in us. Those of you who have donated money to this project are having a part in reaching lost adults and children. Those who have donated your time and skill to make this possible will be rewarded by Christ here and hereafter.

UPWARD MINISTRY

There are some important things yet to be done in the gym area in preparation for the Upward Basketball Ministry. We have reached an important milestone in our ministry. Registration for Upward basketball is going well. To date over 60 kids have been signed up and evaluated to play. We have received many compliments on the facilities and encouragement for the program. Our Upward Team is working toward a meaningful ministry to boys and girls. This program is about children experiencing love and encouragement in a Christian environment. They will receive materials and teaching that will help them understand the love of Jesus. They will have fun because they will be playing without the pressure to win. In Upward, "Every Child is a Winner!"

It is a great joy in our hearts to see the gym with children and adults having a good time and knowing you have a part in this work. Thanks to all the Upward volunteers that are coming on board to help. There are many areas in which you can be a part of the work. Here's a list: coaches and assistant coaches; referees and assistants; prayer team partner, give a devotional or testimony at half-time; food concessions worker; clean up crew member; greeter; building and parking lot patrol. The power of your presence to meet and make friends with the parents and grandparents will help to make a connection with the church.

Now, what do we need from you? We need your prayers. Some of you have already been asked to be a prayer partner. We are seeking 100 prayer partners who will pray each day for this ministry. Some of you have received your prayer guide. Please take this seriously because without the help of God we cannot do this ministry. If you would like to be a prayer partner, contact me or one of our Upward prayer partners. We would be happy to mail you the guide, Br. Hartley (205) 221-7660 Pastor, Mike Garner (205) 924-0092 KBC Upward Director.

Our goal for our missions offering to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is $1500. This missions offering will be taken through January 2007. May God bless you as you give, Marie.

FINANCIAL REPORT

The donations for November were $3,510.00. At this time we owe First National Bank $53,136.05. Since the project began we have raised $248,387.30. At the present we have $4,533.19 in the building fund. Again thank you for your donations for the month of November 2006.

OUR LOGOS We would like to thank Charles Ivey Sr. for his work in developing the Church logo and overseeing the installation of the gym flooring. Our thanks goes to each of those involved in God's work.

Did You Know?

The New Year is our opportunity to refresh our relationship with the One who says, "See, I am making all things new" (Revelation 21:5, NRSV).

Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better [person].
