Dear Member and Friends of Kansas Baptist Church , |

| |
It has certainly been an exciting year here at Kansas Baptist Church. We look back upon a year in which we have experienced many blessings from God. We feel that 2006 has been a great year of preparation for ministry. The Family Life Center has almost been completed. Only a few things have yet to be done.

| Some events of this month were: the choir's presentation of "There's Something About That Name"; our Christmas Celebration in the Family Life Center; and our special Christmas worship service on Sunday, Christmas Eve. Each of these services reminded us of the meaning of Christmas. |
UPWARD MINISTRY
The Upward Ministry has become a reality. This has been one of the goals for the Church. Now, we have the facilities to minister to people who otherwise may never be touched by the gospel. This program is a Christ centered ministry. Although the children play basketball it is not about basketball. It is about introducing children, moms and dads, and grandparents to the love of God through Jesus Christ. "Every Child is a winner!" and they are taught the Bible and how to pray and become a Christian. At the half-time of each game a message, testimony, or devotion is given to the adults. It has been amazing at the leadership of God in this program. God has answered our prayer in that he has sent workers and many other volunteers with skills to serve. We are thankful for the outside assistants we have received from those who have experience in the Upward Ministry. We have the coaches, referees, time keeper and their assistants. The children's uniform packet's have arrived and we are ready to begin on January 2nd with the first practice. The first game will be Friday evening January 12th with the 5th and 6th grade boys and girls games. The K-4 grades' first game will be Saturday the 13th. The games will go for 8 weeks with Awards night on the 15th of March. There will be plenty of work for volunteers. This is a church wide ministry and there is a place for each person, from the youngest to the oldest. You can help in the selling of concessions, as a greeter, cleanup crew, moving chairs for the Friday and Saturday games, parking lot patrol, etc. I need a list of those who would be willing to bring an eight minute devotion on Friday and Saturday during half time. We would like for those who are members of the church to do these devotions. However, we will also have some special people in to do some of these devotions. Please contact me if you are willing to do this. |
| We want to thank the men of the church in the work with the score board. We were able to acquire a score board from another church for $100.00. It has been installed and is in working order. |
| The Building Committee is working on the heating and cooling for the gym. It has been decided to install a permanent system capable of doing the job for both winter and summer. We realize this is an expensive investment; however, it is the wisest thing to do at this time. A full report will be made as to the cost at a later date. |
| Each time I prepare this Newsletter, I am reminded of so many of you who have had a part in this endeavor. How we thank you for trusting in the Lord and having faith in the work here at Kansas Baptist Church. It is a wonderful and humbling feeling when you walk into the Family Life Center knowing that you are having a part in this ministry. Think of the many that have already been blessed because of your faith in Christ. Thank God for you and pray for Kansas Baptist Church that Jesus will always be lifted up as Savior and Lord in this place. Pray for the Upward Ministry and the many volunteers involved. |

Our Lottie Moon Mission offering will go through January. West Africa is the area of emphasis. You may think there is little you can do to impact this area of the world. When you give you are there with the missionaries working among these people. Your gifts are testimonies that you believe all people are important to God. Eternity will reveal to you what influence you had to go "to the ends of the Earth." We are looking forward to having Jared Dobbins as our mission speaker. He will be with us on January 21 st at the 11 am service. God bless you, Marie
