Greetings to all our members and friends of Kansas Baptist Church,

Another year has rolled around and it is Homecoming time again.  We are planning to have a wonderful program and a great time of fellowship with all our members and friends.  We will be eating our Fellowship Meal in the Dining Hall of the Family Life Center.  I believe that you are going to be blessed to see the progress that has been made since Homecoming last year.

We are looking forward to the completion of the facility and developing ministries for the adults and youth in our community and surrounding area.  As always we ask that you pray for the building committee and all the men and women in Kansas Baptist Church who have given of their skills, time, and money to this project.  We continue to express our thanks to those of you who have made donations to this work.  You have helped make this possible and God is pleased when His people give to such a worthwhile work for His Kingdom.  It is a blessing to be part of this great work.

The church had a second Yard Sale on October 1.  Some of the men worked on the yard with grass cutting and bush hogging.  The property looks great.  Thanks to all who worked the yard sale and cleaned up for homecoming.  The year sale raised $441.00 this time.  Our first yard sale raised $1795.00 for our building.  We certainly appreciate all the donations of items for sale.

We would like to report that the church gave thirty boxes of clothes to a local organization for the Hurricane Katrina victims.  The church collected and offering of $779.00 that was donated to the Walker Baptist Disaster Team to be used on their trip to help storms victims.

PROJECT REPORT: The sheet rock has been completed and painted.  The drop ceiling and the lights have been installed and wired.  Air conditioning is up and running.  The kitchen is in the process of being furnished with appliances.  Through special donations we now have the stove and sink.  Soon the ladies committee with be making a decision on cabinets and the floor tile.

HOMECOMING RECOGNITION: We would like for the individuals who have a donation made in their honor to be at Homecoming.  The service will include reading their names from the plaque.  The names of people who have had donations given in their memory will also be read.  It is significant that those who are deceased are remembered for their influence on the church in the past.  Their work will be remembered.  All who see the plaque in the future will be reminded of their influence on Kansas Baptist Church.  We who are living become a part of the ministry of Kansas Baptist Church.  Future generations will be reminded of the importance of serving the Lord and His Kingdom.

FINANCIAL REPORT: Donations to the building fund for the month of September including interest was $1,051,10.  At the present time we have $2,753.00 in the building fund.  We owe the FNB the total of $16,319.46.  Total amount raised to date for the Family Life Center: $196,770.03.

I receive a phone call from Stephen Cox this past week and he wished to convey to you his thanks for the encouraging cards and letters.  He said that they meant a lot to him.  So I am including his address again.
