Greetings to all our members and friends of Kansas Baptist Church,

The month of November was a very meaningful month.  We enjoyed a great time of fellowship together in our Thanksgiving Service and meal in the dining hall of the Family Life Center.

It is such a wonderful thing to have a place where we can enjoy one anothers company.  We are enjoying the newness of the facility and are looking forward to great things happening.

There is work yet to be done, but with the Lord's help and guidance His building will be completed, because the "people have a mind to work."  Thanks to all who worked to make this Thanksgiving a very special time.

We are preparing for our Christmas program.  This year, on December 18th, the choir will be presenting the musical, "Bethlehem Morning" in the morning service.  The evening services will consist of a youth play, Christmas tree and fellowship to follow.  We hope that you can be in attendance for the entire Sunday's activities as we celebrate the greatest gift ever given.

Since the 25th is Christmas Day, we will only have the morning service beginning at 10:30-11:30.  You are invited to worship with us on Christmas Day.  There will be no evening service.

I would like to encourage all our members, as we look forward to the year 2006, to look back over this year and rejoice in what God has done, the blessings we have received and the things we have experienced that have made us see just how great God is.  Another year will soon be gone. The new year holds many unknowns, but with faith in God and a committment to His will, great things will be accomplished for the Church and community.  Thank God, we are building for now and for the future generations.  The future is bright for Kansas Baptist Church and for those who are willing to trust Christ with their lives.

We are excited about the opening of Corridor-X.  It is amazing how quiet it has become since the traffic has been rerouted, especially the trucks.  In a few years there will be a lot of development along Corridor-X.  Kansas Baptist Church will be ready for the increase in population and opportunities to reach people.

Again, as Pastor, I wish to thank all of you for your support and encouragement since the Church began this project.  It has just been amazing at the response to the fund raising to pay for this building.  People have made donations in many areas.  We now have a large new stainless steel refrigator for the kitchen that has been donated and delivered.  A high quality sound system has been donated and a nice sofa for the conference room.  The ladies committee will soon be deciding on the kitchen cabinets.  The rest of the doors will soon be up in order for the baseboards to be installed and the floor cleaned and polished.  We hope to begin work on completing the bathrooms the first of the year.  I ask that you continue to pray for those who are working toward the completion of this project.

Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions: On December 12th, we begin the emphasis on sharing God's love around the world.  It is a blessing to be able to go to the mission field by giving our money.  We will continue the Lottie Moon Christmas offering through January.  We have a story to tell to the nations, that Jesus was born, lived on earth and died so all can be saved.  Our goal is $1,500.00.  Last year we exceeded the $900.00 goal.  I believe we can reach the$1,500.00 goal.  We will be blessed by giving so those in other countries can hear how to know God.  Thanks for you generous spirit of giving.  Marie

Mission Update: Is is a wonderful time of the year.  We experience the joy of giving and sharing with those who need to be remembered.  The shoebox ministry for "Operation Christmas Child" was wonderful.  We filled 17 boxes for children.  These will go to children in countries where there is extreme proverty and those where war has devastated the country.  Thank you for exceeding the 14 boxes given last year.

Nursing Home Ministry: Thanks for your love and compassion to the patients at Carbon Hill Nursing Home.  The response this year was fantastic.  We had a large box and it was filled to overflowing.  Christmas will be happier because of all of you.

Financial Report: We have as of November 30th, $9,655.19 in the building fund.  The donations for the month, which includes the gift of the refrigerator and interest was $3,750.00.  We have raised to date $207,104.32.  We owe FNB of Carbon Hill $24,702.00.
