Greetings to all our members and friends of Kansas Baptist Church,

Greetings in the Name of Jesus!

As I type this Newsletter a prayer goes to the throne of Grace.  I pray that you are well today and re-joicing in the Lord.  Our report on Church activities starts with youth night.  It was a very special service.  The Youth Drama Team from Grace Assembly of God performed "Human Videos".  Using sign language and skits each video brought home some valuable lessons for both adults and youth.  Afterwards we enjoyed snacks and games in the Family Life Center.
This year we had a new experience in Vacation Bible School.

On Saturday, June 11th, we held VBS from 9 am to 3 PM.  Our attendance was not as good as we had hoped.  However, due to the rain (all day) and other factors we feel that it was a success.  We had a dry place for activities in the Family Life Center.

It is vacation time and we hope that you and your family have a time of R&R and get some rest.

Thanks to Rayburn Garner for preaching for me on Sunday night the 12th, Dennis Dobbins on Sunday night the 26th  and Charles Ivey Sr. for filling the pulpit on Sunday, July 3rd.

It is nice to have men to call on within the Church.

PROJECT UPDATE: Donations to the building fund for the month of June was $672.25.  At the present time we have $4,713.14 in the building fund.  We have purchased the materials for the inside work on the building and at this time we owe the FNB the total of $20,042.30.  We have raised the total  of $188,072.15 since the project began.

Thanks to the following ladies who prepared meals for all the workers. Marie Hartley and Laurie Jones on Monday.  Helen Concord and Harriet Eads on Tuesday and Sue Dobbins and Marcella Eads on Wednesday.  The workers brought with them a ready and willing heart of service.  How can we ever thank the Lord and His servants enough?  A special thanks to my two friends of First Baptist Church,  Barry Tice and Jerry Sherer for their team leadership and organizing the men to work.  Also, thanks to Alton Concord for his tireless work as building committee chairman.

A heartfelt thanks to all of you for your faithful stewardship.  Each of you who have given of your time  and money on this project have  made a lasting investment in the kingdom of God.  Future generations will be blessed because you have prayed, worked, and given to the cause of Christ.

This community now has a place that they can be proud of and know that there is a church where all are welcomed in the name of Jesus.

Financial Report: For the month of May we received $ 1,463.00 in donation plus $2.72 in interest toward the Family Life Center.  We have reserved in the building fund $11,334.64.  We have now raised to date $187, 399.90. We are making a payment of $2000. 00 each month to the First National Bank of Carbon Hill.  We now owe FNB a total of $21,931.57.  Two donations were made in memory of  Mrs. Agnes Hartley and Gregory Willcox.

As we look toward Homecoming, the second Sunday of October, each of us are encouraged to consider making a special Homecoming donation to the Family Life Center project.  Consider giving in memory or honor of someone who has been a blessing to your life.  Their name will be on a special plaque in the Family Life Center. The first Saturday of August we will have a giant yard sale in the gym of the Family Life Center.

If you would like to donate salable items to this event, someone will come and pick them up.  If you desire a receipt for tax purposes, we will be happy to give you one.  If you receive a tax receipt and the items do not sell we will give them to some charitable organization.  All proceeds will go to the Family Life Center of Kansas Baptist Church.
