Greetings to all our members and friends of Kansas Baptist Church,

Greeting in the Name of the Lord,

I hope this Newsletter finds you having a good day in the Lord.  A prayer for each of you comes with this issue.  Thank you so much for your prayers and support of Kansas Baptist Church.  The Church seeks to minister to those living in the community and surrounding area.  We had our first experience in opening the Family Life Center safe rooms for the community with the threat of hurricane Dennis.  There were volunteers who came and greeted a few people who came.  We thank the Lord for answered prayer with regard to the severity of the storm.  It was a good practice experience for the Church to open it up.  We had snacks and some music (picking, singing and grinning).  Plans are in the making for the church to get Red Cross certification for a disaster shelter.

On July 24th, the puppet ministry performed for the Youth Night event.  The presented the drama about the life of Joseph, "From the Pit to the Palace."  Afterward, there was a Pizza Party for all who attended.

PROJECT REPORT: We are moving along with the project.  As reported in the June report, the Carpenters For Christ did a wonderful job in framing and hanging the dry wall.  Thanks to Dale Pair, and Stoney Pair, some of the finishing of the dry wall is being done.  We are focusing our work in the fellowship and kitchen area.  We feel that we will have it ready for our homecoming meal.  The lady's committee is in charge of the kitchen plans.  As soon as the walls are ready and painted we will be able to put in the ceiling.  The materials for the ceiling are on location and paid for.  Thanks to an anonymous donor we now have money for a gas stove.

FINANCIAL REPORT: Donations to the building fund for the month of July $786.20.  At the present time we have $5,499.34 in the building fund.  At this time we owe the FNB the total of $18,127.10.  We have raised the total of $188,858.35 since the project began.  We are encouraging all of us to make a special Homecoming donation to the Family life Center project.  Make this donation in memory or honor of someone who has been a blessing to your life.  Their name will be on a special plaque in the Family Life Center.

Currently we are preparing a list of names for whom we have received donations to date.  We hope to have this plaque ready for Homecoming October 9th.  Names can be added to this plaque as donations are received.

August 6th, we had a Huge yard sale in the Family Life Center.  We had many items donated for sale.  A special thanks to Karen Ivey, coordinator of the yard sale.  At this time we do not have a total of sales, however, all proceeds will be used on the building.

Thanks to all our members who came and worked and welcomed the visitors.  This was a wonderful time to introduce our Church to people.  We gave special tours of the building.  We want people to know what God is doing here and let them know that they are welcome.

In business meeting, the Church voted to buy twelve tables for the dinning area of the fellowship room in preparation for Homecoming 2005.

Please say a prayer now for the work here!
