January 2005

Greetings to all our members and friends of Kansas Baptist Church,

We have started the year 2005 with much excitement and expectations in the work of the Lord.  After an after Christmas rest we are setting some goals for Church work and growth.  Several things are being planned.   One important event we have every year is Vacation Bible School.  I hope that you will consider working with the children.  Please sign up.  We are exploring the idea of a one day VBS.  This year we will have plenty of room for classes and recreation in the Family Life Center building.

The Valentine Banquet is in the planning  for the 12th of this month.  We are looking forward to a great time.  The puppets will be putting on a program.
We are planning an area wide door to door visitation program.  We want to let the community and surrounding area know what Kansas Baptist Church has to offer.  We desire to share the love of Jesus with everyone and let them know that they are welcome in Kansas Baptist Church.
Another program we a planning is a Special Youth Sunday every month.  We have several youth and children that have special talents and  in order for them to develop them, they must have the opportunity to serve.
I encourage you to pray for the Church and the leadership of the Church.  This pastor needs your prayers in order that I might lead the Church into a deeper walk and work  of the Lord.

Project Report: There are several things to report.  We now have the walks  around the front and sides of the Family Life Center.  The outside pads were poured for the heating and air.  The inside units have been installed with the duct work  for the heating and cooling. The men's ministry will soon begin work on the inside of the building.
The building committee will be making plans  for the men's ministry to start work in the fellowship section.  Our goal is to have the fellowship room completed by Homecoming 2005.  It will be wonderful to have our next homecoming meal in the new building.
We cannot thank each of you enough for your regular contributions to this work.  When I look at that building and walk inside it, I thank God for all of you who have contributed, prayed, and encouraged us in this work.  Please be reminded that every soul that is ministered to, every person that is saved and going to heaven, you had and are having a part in it.  This is what Jesus was referring to when He said,  "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."  I feel when I give to something like this, I make an investment that will continue to work for the Lord long after I have  died.  I think of all those who have labored for the Lord here,  those who provided a foundation for the work of God to continue here in Kansas.  Think, what if they had not had a love of the Lord and people.  Would there be a Kansas Baptist Church.  What we are building on is the labor and love of those saints of the past. God will bless His people as they support and provide for His Kingdom's work.

FINANCIAL REPORT: For the month of January 2005  we had a total of $1,145.00  in donations  to the building fund.   We paid our regular monthly payment of $2000 to FNB.  The total of the building fund as of January 31 is $22,413.14.  Our endebtness to FNB is $84,497.94.

Our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering: Lottie Moon Christmas  Offering Report: The Lottie Moon Christmas mission offering was an outstanding success.  We not only reached out goal of $900, but over doubled it.  The total was $2,005.00.  We are excited about the blessings of God.  Souls will be saved and blessed because all of us have a heart for missions.

Thank you for giving to the Lord.
