Dear Member and Friends of Kansas Baptist Church ,
Greeting in the name of the Lord. We have much to report for the month of October. We had a wonderful homecoming with many of our former members and friends returning to worship and fellowship with us. We were able to eat our fellowship meal in the unfinished fellowship hall in the Family Life Center. Tables were set up and people served themselves in the Church and carried it into the new building. We expect to have the kitchen and dining hall completed for next year's Homecoming.
The story in the Bible of the three wise men who searched and found Jesus gave Him three gifts. One of those gifts was gold. God was the gift for a King. Jesus is our King. This Christmas, as we did last year, we are asking each person to give Jesus a gift of Gold for the Family Life Center. This gift can be given in honor or memory of someone dear to you. Their name will be place in our plaque in the Family Life Center. Please consider giving a gift of Gold to Jesus this Christmas.
Our Fall Festival was held on October 30 . We had a wonderful time and the children enjoyed the pumpkin carving. We got to cook our hotdog's over an open fire. After our meal we went inside for a puppet program. The puppeteers did a great job and the children and adults really enjoyed it. Thanks to Teresa Eads and Karen Ivey for their fine work with the youth. After the puppet program, the children were treated with Trunk-a-Treat in the parking lot.
We welcome into our fellowship Rayburn and Myrna Garner. Mr. and Mrs. Garner comes to Kansas Baptist Church by transfer of letter. Mr. Garner is an ordained Deacon and will be serving the Church in that capacity. He is also a Lay preacher. We thank God for sending them.
Project Report: Now for a progress report. Our building fund goal for homecoming 2004 was $125,000. We are happy to report $3000 in donations for the month of October. Although we did not reach our goal, we are rejoicing in the provision of God. We wish to thank each of you who made a special homecoming donation. If you have not seen the building I hope you can visit soon, tour the structure and be amazed at what God is doing here. Again I am including some pictures. I hope you will be encouraged to continue your faithful support of this project. It is great to look at this and know that we all have a part in something great for God.
