Dear Member and Friends of Kansas Baptist Church ,

Greetings in the name of Jesus....... The Christmas season is upon us, a time to reflect upon the greatest gift ever given to mankind, the gift of God's own Son.  The prophet  Isaiah wrote... "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:"  I love the Christmas season because the world is reminded of Jesus.  This is a holiday the world cannot do away with.  Let us take advantage of the opportunities we have to declare our faith in Christ.

We use this Newsletter to keep you informed on the progress of the building project.  I wish to thank all those who have told us how they appreciate the updates.  We certainly want everyone who has donated to know what you are helping to accomplish here at Kansas for the Lord.  We all are richly blessed of God as we give of our time, skills and money.

As was reported in our last newsletter, we are also enclosing an updated report on our finances.  I encourage you to read it and if you have any questions regarding  the report, you may call  the number listed above.

Project Report: In a building committee meeting the decision was made to include the heating and air systems for the fellowship and educational department.  Although this area is not finished, it opens this section up for some activities.  It also makes it possible for the finishing work to continue during cold and rainy days.  It also allows  for the safe rooms to be used if bad weather threatens.  The building committee also decided to have our contractor build in three safe rooms instead of the original two.  These rooms are built to FEMA code.  They will also serve as Sunday school rooms.

On November 30th the first phase of the building was completed.  The final payment was made to Mark McDonald.  We were presented the keys to the building.  It has been an exciting year for Kansas Baptist Church.  We are going to continue the  work of the Lord.  If we provide the faith, He  will provide  what is needed to go forward. We are asking that all who will to make a "Gift of Gold" offering this Christmas season.  The wise men brought gifts, one of those gifts was gold, the gift for a King.  We hope you will be able to make such a gift to the building fund this Christmas.

There are many people in our lives that have blessed us by their faith, give the gift in honor or memory of that person.  Their names will continue to witness for Christ when it is read on the plaque that will be in the Family Life Center.

We welcome into our fellowship Mr. Mike Garner by letter.  Coming on profession of faith for baptism is Stephen Cox and Amber Garner.  We thank the Lord for sending them to Kansas Baptist Church.

Our Lottie Moon Christmas offering will be taken through the month of December and January. Our goal for this year is $900.  When we give to this mission offering we are becoming a part of world missions through the Church.  100% of this money goes directly to carrying the message of the Gospel to the multitudes of lost people in other countries.
