Project Report: The building committee met and decided to go ahead and do the grading and have the slab poured while the weather is right. Also, we want to let the community and those who have given see that God is moving in His Church.
We have had two men's work days, one at the pastorium and one at the Church. We also had our first brotherhood meeting with breakfast and a speaker. It was a very inspirational time with sixteen men present. I want to thank Steve Cox for his willingness to be our director for the men's ministry.
The pastorium is in fine shape and we have had it appraised.
Soon the land situation will be resolved and we will be able to sell it. Pray that God will send us the right person and we can get top dollars for it to go into the Family Life Center.
The church property is looking very good. Thanks to Alton Concord for over seeing the removal of the brush and tree limbs.
Enclosed with this newsletter is the floor plan for the Family Life Center. The building will be directly behind the Church.
The main entrance will be by a covered canopy connected to the present building. A hall will connect the educational department and fellowship and dining hall to the gymnasium. There are double doors from the fellowship hall into the gym to accommodate an overflow crowd which someday we fully expect.
Please note the two safe rooms that will also serve as Sunday school rooms. There will be a large room we call a conference room which can be divided into two Sunday school rooms with folding curtains. The gym will allow us to develop ministries that have been proven to be effective outreach tools.
There are many programs that will reach young people and minister to adults as well. This space will allow us to host large special events. |
