Greetings to all our members and friends of Kansas Baptist Church,

Greetings for the New Year 2005

We wish you a very blessed new year.  As we look back over 2004 we see the hand of God at work here at Kansas Baptist Church.  Our lives have been richly blessed in many ways.  The first phase of the Family Life Center has been completed.  Thanks to so many of you who have prayed, encouraged, and given to this project.  The work is going forward into phase two. We are setting a goal for homecoming 2005.  We are working toward the completion of the fellowship section and plan to have our homecoming meal there.  The power has been connected and I had the privilege of turning the lights on in the gym for the first time January 4th.

Project Report: The duct work and inside units for the heating and air conditioning have been installed.  As soon as the walks and pads are completed the outside units will be installed.  This will provide heating and cooling for the fellowship area and educational department.  Soon the men's ministry will begin the partitioning work.  We are looking to soon have some activities organized for our youth and young adults.  Now that we have plenty of room we are planning to have a giant indoor yard sale.  People are being asked to donate sellable items to the church.  All proceeds will be used for the Family Life Center.

FINANCIAL REPORT: In the near future we will disclose the details for our 2005 donation and pledge drive.  We are reminded that this Family Life Center would not be possible without many of you being willing to give to this great work of God here in Kansas.  We thank God for you and the love you have for Him and the Church.  You will not go unblessed for your contribution.  Our "Gift of Gold" fund raising drive for Christmas was great.  We had  $4,282.00 in donations for December. Added to this we had a CD of $2,724.81 to mature and a transfer from  the general fund of $3,500.00.  There was $4.00 interest earned on the money in the building fund.  The total  added to the building fund for December was $10,510.81.  This gives a balance in the building fund of $23,262.89.  The Church is making a $2,000 payment per month to the First National Bank on our loan.  The Church now owes FNB $82,397.94.

As of December 31, 2004 our total raised is $128,569.15. We hope that you can come for a visit and tour the facility.  I believe that you will rejoice in what you are having a part of doing.  Again we thank you for your help in the project to date and what you will do in the future. .

***********December Events*****************

The Choir presented the Cantata, "Celebrate the Gift" on Sunday Morning December 19th.  In the evening service the puppet ministry presented the play, "The First Leon."  The children as well as the adults enjoyed this unique ministry of Kansas Baptist Church. A special thanks to the puppeteers.  Also thanks to Teresa Eads for her work with our choir and puppet ministry.  Thanks also to Karen Ivey, asst. puppet ministry director.

* Our Lottie Moon Christmas offering will continue through January *

Thanks to the many who have made a mission offering. Our goal is $900 and as of December 31 we have $575.00.  Please remember that 100% of what you give goes directly to missions in other parts of the world.  We have a part in reaching lost people  for Christ when we give.

The first Sunday of 2005 was a special day.  It was a special privilege for me to baptize three new Christians into the membership of Kansas Baptist Church.  Sherry Garner and her daughter Alee, and Karlee Ivey.  The Lord is blessing our work of faith.  All praise to Jesus!

As we pray, work and give we see the hand of God at work in our lives and in the life of His church.  We are beginning a special prayer walk in the Family Life Center.  I have included a prayer guide.  You may not be able to join us in our walk, however, when you pray please include these request in your prayers.
