Greetings to all our members and friends of Kansas Baptist Church,

August has been an exciting month with our building project.  The Church voted to accept the First National Bank's offer of a construction loan line of credit of $150,000.  We had our groundbreaking for the Family Life Center August 22nd.  Grading began on the 23rd of August and at this time it is completed and the contractor is making preparations for pouring the slab.  The building has been ordered and should be delivered sometime this month.  Things have been falling in place and we thank God for that.

The month of August was a wonderful month in reference to our fund raising.  We had a special donation of $15,000 in memory of Bro. Felix Dobbins.  Another special donation of $500.00 in memory of Christine and Buster Cunningham and Mrs. Pauline Pierce Stidman. Our regular offerings and pledge fulfillment was $998.00.  We transferred one CD to the building fund of $5,365.30 and interest of $21.37.  This brought the total received for the month of August to $21,884.67.  We cannot express enough our gratitude and thanks to all of you who have expressed so much faith in God and the Church.  We are awed at what God has done and is doing.  Thank you for you openness to his leading.  What wonderful blessings are your as you serve Jesus Christ both now and in the future.

We are aware of the fact that many of us may never see the impact that this project will have on the future of Kansas Alabama.  All of us together are just labors working and sowing seed for the master.  I am thankful to be a part of that.

Our Homecoming will be October 10th, I hope that you can be present for this very special day.  You will be able to see for yourself the progress that has been made.  I have included a few pictures, however, they do not shown the scope of this project.

Project Report: Last year at Homecoming we presented the Church's vision and began our fund raising drive.  We set a goal of $125,000 to be reached by homecoming 2005.  The total raised as of August 31 is $108,445.29.  A great big PRAISE THE LORD!  We are asking that each person make a special Homecoming donation on October 10th to the building fund.  We are asking those who have an interest in the Church but may not be able to attend to send an offering designated to the Family Life Center.  We are not asking for any certain amount, only what the Lord lays on your heart.  Help us reach and exceed our goal. As of this newsletter we are only $16,554.71 from our goal.

We would like to also report that the pastorium is being sold.  We are accepting sealed bids on the house and property.  The house is in good shape. Bids are due in the lawyer's office September 24th and will be opened September the 30th.  If you are interested please contact us at (205) 221-7660; (205) 924-9852.
